Love You Guys!

Hey guys.
Not a ton has happened this week. We've had a few video lessons with some investigators and recent converts. That's been fun.
We are shut into our apartments until further notice woohooo.
God loves you.
Jesus loves you.
I love you.
The Prophet loves you.
Conference is coming up this weekend!!!!!! (click on the link and tune in this weekend!) I'm so pumped. We are going to receive some amazing revelation!
Hopefully we take this time to prepare for it.

Two-weeks worth of Emails!

Week One: Halfway to 40!! Pretty Wack!
Holy cow I had the best birthday present on my mission.

ESTEVAN GOT BAPTIZED!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!

Oh my gosh that was such an awesome experience for him. He got out of the water and pumped his hands in the air and shouted Yeah!!!!!!

I also got mordidad twice by an elder. That sucked I got two cupcakes up my nose and in my eyes. But that's what happens here in the mission. Gotta to love it though. I'm literally halfway to 40. That's pretty wack.

Other then that not a lot of crazy stuff has happened. We've been taking precautions...by washing our hands and doing simple things. But we haven't had any cases close by so. We're chilling though.

We had exchanges with the STL's the day after. That was such an awesome opportunity to work with another sister.

I was with Sister Triana...again. That was my third exchange with her. It was so fun!!! We got to meet a lot of super awesome people.

Corpus is pretty fun. Lots of buildings haha.

It's kind of crazy that we're sent around to talk with people and to spread the word of God. But it's a little difficult to invite people to church when we don't have church. Haha But we had a cool little come follow me lesson with some recent concerts and some members. Afterwards we helped make breakfast so that was pretty fun.

I know the church is true. I know that our prophet is given revelation for the times now. He leads and guides the church. And evidence of a prophet being called in these last days is the Book of Mormon.

Second week: Staying in doors and away from strangers
Holy cow!
This virus crap needs to stop. I know that's literally impossible but you probably understand why I'm saying that.
So basically this whole week we've been stuck in our apartment. Not necessarily quarantined but doing our part to not spread it or get it.
We've had a few FaceTime lessons which are always great.
Manuel our investigator went home to Amarillo Texas for the weekend and the sisters up there were able to teach him and his family. They called us after and told us that Manuel was so excited about the plan of salvation he even pulled up the picture we drew on his phone. Haha
They said he had so much enthusiasm towards the gospel that he made sure they mentioned different parts, like temples. He is so amazing. He calls us to make sure that we're good and that we'll pray for him. We're like his daughters he's always making sure that 23 have what we need and are safe.
He is so awesome!!
Estevan has been doing pretty good. We showed him the video that goes through the Rome Italy temple. He kept saying "I can't wait to go there!!" awww this man is so amazing. Unfortunately we can't go to the temple yet. But I have faith that when it is time he'll be so ready and excited!
We have been doing our best to share the message we have. The gospel of Jesus Christ is amazing. Through five simple steps we can make it through the gate and into the kingdom of God. I know without a shadow of a doubt that I'm here in Texas for a reason. There are so many missionaries going home from our mission and missions world wide. 40% of our friends that have been working tirelessly and with so much faith and enthusiasm are having to stop their work. It honestly sucks.
They don't want to go home.
They don't want to stop.
BUT GOD HAS A PLAN FOR EVERYTHING.
I have said this phrase so many times in my life and especially on this mission. I believe it and I know it to be true. You meet people, teach people, help people for a reason. You may not have realized it but God has.
I love knowing that I don't have to stress about a lot of hings because God is in control.
We don't need to worry.
I KNOW this gospel is true. I KNOW the Book of Mormon is the word of God and I read and study it and the Bible everyday. It's literally the word of God. Why not take the time to read it??
I love you guys so much. I hope you're staying safe and clean. Please keep the missionaries that are going home/trying to go home in your prayers. And their families as well.
Let me know if you need anything.
LOVE YA!!!!!

Dead Bees for Days

It's crazy how much time flies when you're out doing a bunch if different things through out the day. But Estevan didn't get baptized this Saturday because he was coming back from Arizona. So he decided this Tuesday works better for him. What an awesome birthday present to have!!!! We're so excited for him. And he tells us every day how excited he is. We also asked him if one of our members could baptize him. And he told us this is going to be the best baptism ever! Yay it is!!!!!!!

Sister McKee and I have been having a problem with bees in our apartment basically this whole transfer. Everyday we come back home at night and we have like 6 or 7 dead bees lying on our carpet. We both have been sting too. We talked to management for the apartment buildings and that was like 3 or 4 weeks ago. Multiple times. But finally they decided to do something about it. So they had to cut open three separate parts of our ceiling. And extract the hive or hives. So we had to not be in our apartment for like three days. We had to stay with the STL's in Corpus. Because they are the closest sisters to us. So every day we had to drive from Portland to Corpus. Then in the morning from Corpus to Portland. Which is a 30 minute drive one way.
Luckily we can write those miles off. But one morning for morning workouts we played tennis. Ahhhhhh I miss playing tennis so much. I beat the elders both 3-0, 3-0. So that was nice. My serves still go in. So yay!!!

One of our investigators took us out to dinner at one restaurant and dessert at another for my birthday. So we had another lesson in Chilis. We taught him the Plan of Salvation. He was so happy. We sent missionaries to where is wife lives because he live here in Portland only for work but will visit on occasion. And they texted us saying that they went by and she wasn't home. So he called his wife and set an appoint for the missionaries to visit her. Woohooo. They were pretty happy when we told them.

Alrighty guys. For my birthday wish I would love for you to pray for a missionary opportunity. Or if you've had one recently that works. But I would love for you to email me about it.

I freaking love you guys and so does Jesus!!!

"This would make a sick Jacuzzi"

Feb. 17-23
Holy guacamole guys.
God is blessing us so much...well he blesses all of us a lot everyday, but we may not realize it. Anyway. We've just been working our butts off and reaping the blessings of it. That's probably not the most "missionary" thing to say. But there it is. 😂😂
I love Monday nights. You always have such an awesome p-day then you get back to work. That night we had a lesson with Guehovany. We taught him the Gospel of Jesus Christ and asked him to be baptized. HE SAID YES!!!!! WOOOOHOOOOOO
We didn't set a date just yet because his schedule literally changes day to day. But he really wants to. He has so many amazing questions and he told us that he's now going to listen to the scriptures on his two hour drive down to the valley!!!!
Awww the spirit was super strong and definitely prompted us.
A few days ago we were walking around a neighborhood that didn't have any record of people being contacted there. So we knocked some doors and talked with everyone outside. Tons weren't interested like always, but at least we're willing to accept a Jesus Card. But as we were walking back to the car this guys is chilling in his garage smoking. I was literally about to start talking to him but he said,
Ramsus(that's his name) : Are you guys Jehova's Witnesses??
Us: Nope, we're the sister missionaries from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Ramsus: *grabs two chairs* oh cool want to sit down and teach me something.
Us: *screaming on the inside because this guys is willing to learn*
... Sure we'd love to.
*proceeds to teach the restoration and answer all of his fifty million questions about biased things he's seen on YouTube.*
That was an epic experience. He's interested in learning more. Yay!
We met this cute mom with three little boys...sounds familiar...huh mom? 😂😂  Anyway she let us in the first time and we gave her a Book of Mormon. We went back a few days later and she read the chapter we gave her. She is super cool. And really likes the Book of Mormon.
Estevan came to church!!!!!
We also had an awesome plan of Salvation with him after and he said yes to March 7th for the date of his baptism. This guys is so awesome. He asked us to send him a chapter to read everyday from the book of Mormon. And we also gave him a little church tour. And we showed him the baptismal font. He said... "This would make a sick Jacuzzi." hahaha we laughed so hard. I'm so excited for him.
He also said that right after we talked about temples he said that he wants to go there so bad. I told him after he's baptized and confirmed we can go with him to do baptisms for his family members that weren't baptized before they died. I said that could be my birthday present.
That would be a phat blessing.

                                                                          Feb. 25-March 2

The end of the transfer is coming close to the end.
Let's see what happened...
We've been meeting with Manuel and he told us that he wants to make this a lifestyle. So he said we could send missionaries over to his wife's house in Amarillo Texas. Woo-hoo!!!!
We've been working hard and seeing the miracles.
We stopped by our investigators house the other night and checked up on them to see how they are doing.
So we're talking with Rusty and we can hear Samantha on the phone in the other room. He takes a bite of his food and literally starts choking... It went down the wrong tube and he tried to take a drink of water. So he runs down the hall and we just hear him puke on the ground. Then we hear Sam saying "you okay..... Oh he just puked through his nose... Gross. While she's still on the phone."
Then he makes it to the bathroom and we heard him puking for like 15 minutes straight. It was hilarious. And super awkward too. But luckily we got to talk to their friend and play with their daughter while he was vomiting. 🤢😂
Oh this whole week we traded with the ZL's and used their truck. I fell in love with it. It was pretty nice and it's not a van so I was even more in love with it.
But we had to switch back. And we called and told them we didn't want to. They just laughed at us. I was pretty upset about it. They were talking up the van so much. But we had to switch. LAME.
I don't get why sisters don't get to use the trucks. It's like the priesthood. Hahaha       Kidding...

I HIT 9 MONTHS THIS WEEK HOLY CRAP I AM OFFICIALLY... SEASONED AS THEY SAY IT HERE.

It blows my mind. This time has gone by. I still have lot's of time to learn and grow and help as many people as I can.
Anyway I love you guys. Keep doing your best and Jesus will always help you.

Hermana Darling
